Connect with God

The world feels dark and chaotic right now. These are the times we must cling to God the most for peace and hope.

In this Facebook post, Jennifer Dukes Lee shares the beauty of starting your mornings with God:

"That sunrise tells me the truth: while I slept, God was awake. While I tossed and turned, He was steady. He was creating exactly enough mercies for today -- anticipating every need, every ounce of strength, every bit of courage we would require."

Connect with Yourself

In this episode of The Lazy Genius Podcast, Kendra Adachi shares "10 Ways I Feel Like Myself." She names five things that make her feel rested and recharged, and five things that make her feel alive or wake her up. Adachi says naming things that make you feel like yourself and doing them often help you to feel grounded even during the chaos of life—like a deeply rooted tree that stands firm even during a storm.

Let's make our own lists. I'll go first. Here are five things that make me feel rested: Reading, writing, cutting up magazines and creating a collage, listening to music, and taking a nap.

Here are five things that wake me up: WERQ cardio fitness class, conversations with friends, spending time with family (playing games, riding bikes), finishing writing (as in actually finishing a blog post, Instagram post, etc.), and giving gifts (I love creating a themed gift!).

I hope you'll create your own list! Share it with someone, and ask them to do the same.

Connect with Others

When do you do the things that have no deadline, the tasks that are important but not urgent? Many times connection falls into the important, but not urgent category, and it's easy to put it off, waiting for the perfect time. Am I the only one who does this?

This is an old Instagram post from me, but still relevant today. Check out a "Weekend To Do List" that's all about connection.

May you lean into God and find rest, identity, and purpose. I hope you feel the unshakeable connection to Love Himself.
