Connect with God

From her book, Holy Hygge, Jamie Erickson writes about the with-ness of God from the very beginning. I hope it helps you see your conversations with God in a new way—He is the one starting the conversation and you are not imposing on Him.

"When God created the first person on the sixth day, He did something He had not done with any of His prior creation: He talked with Adam. True, God had spoken to, at, and about all creatures, great and small. But talking with was reserved for the image-bearer. With garnered a blessing. With encouraged intimacy. It invited participation. It created conversation, not just commands."

Connect with Others

Lysa TerKeurst shares in her book, Good Boundaries and Goodbyes, the risk of loving others, but also the safety:

"The more vulnerable we become, the more exposed the tender places inside of us become. This exposure is risky. When we dare to be so very known, we risk being so very hurt. When we dare to be so very hopeful, we risk being so very disappointed. When we dare to be so very giving, we risk being so very taken advantage of...To love and be loved is to be enveloped in the safest feeling I've ever known."

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" Philippians 4:4

P.S. Tell your friends you are thankful for them with these notecards!
